I wanted to take a moment and share with you my evaluation of my chiropractic treatment thus far. As you know, I presented to you with complaints of chronic headache and a popping sensation in my neck. I had progressively worsening headaches of a 6 month interval. These headaches were unrelenting and were causing substantial debility. I had tried essentially every medicine available, including narcotics, for this pain without successful resolution. The pain had gotten so severe that there was also concern that my original head and neck cancer had recurred; thankfully, scans revealed no recurrence.
On presentation to you, I had a thorough examination and x-rays of my cervical spine. These revealed, alignment abnormalities within the spine. You initiated spinal manipulation and a series of exercises. This therapy improved my condition significantly but the pain was not resolved. You then suggested decompression therapy. I am delighted to report that after the first decompression therapy, my headaches remarkably improved and continued to improve further with each successive treatment. I am now at a point where headache is a very rare occurrence. I am convinced that the decompression therapy was a major factor in my recovery.
I write to you so that you may share my story with other patients who may be considering decompression therapy. Although nothing can replace randomized trials for the evaluation of efficacy of treatments, anecdotal reports such as mine can be helpful. It is unlikely that randomized trials would be conducted for decompressive therapy due to financial constraints. I would strongly encourage patients to consider decompression as on of their therapeutic options.
Please feel free to share this letter with patients who may benefit. Reassure them that I have not been compensated in any fashion for my opinion. I must also state that having been trained exclusively in conventional western medicine (Internal Medicine, Hematology, Oncology) I was skeptical of chiropractic care and other alternative modalities. I have, through my experience with your care, reversed that unfounded opinion and believe that chiropractic medicine may offer many patients relief that was previously unknown to them. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Charles R. Tweedy, M.D.

I was miserable. My lower back was extremely painful, preventing me from participating in my usual sporting and recreational activities, I couldn’t stand for more than a few minutes without tremendous pain and numbness in my leg, and I was awakened many times every night by the pain. I sought out Chiropractic treatment from two different doctors but after two months was still receiving no relief. I went to a back specialist who prescribed an MRI which showed that I had a disc extrusion, and it was suggested that I undergo back surgery. I saw a back surgeon who concurred that surgery would be my best alternative for relief. This was not good news to me – I have known far too many people whose back surgery did not provide them relief and/or exacerbated their problem. I reached out to a Doctor of Chiropractic in Colorado Springs that I trust very much and she suggested I find a Doctor in Fort Collins that provided Spinal Decompression as a treatment option. I did a search on the internet and found Dr. Schutte.
After an initial consultation with Dr. Schutte he said that, even though my condition was severe, he felt that Spinal Decompression could provide me a nonsurgical means of alleviating the causes of my pain. After completing the regiment of Decompression I am happy to say that I am 100% pain free and no longer have any numbness! I am slowly returning to my normal activities and couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. If you are experiencing lower back pain I would highly recommend that you request a consultation with Dr. Schutte to determine if you are a candidate for Spinal Decompression. And if you’re considering surgery – I would implore you! Once you start down the road of surgery there is no going back – Spinal Decompression will no longer be an option for you. The success I experienced has been nothing less than miraculous.
Thank you Dr. Schutte – walking into your office was the best thing I ever could have done for my back!
